Andrew King - Director
Andrew founded Regal in 2004 and has in excess of ten years experience in the finance industry on both the sell and buy side, most recently with Paradice Investment Management, an Australian boutique fund manager. Andrew holds an MBA (Ex) from AGSM, University of New South Wales, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Merit), University Western Sydney.
Brendan O'Connor - Chief Executive Officer
Brendan commenced with Regal Funds Management as Chief Executive Officer in December 2016. Brendan has over 20 years of financial services experience with organisations including KPMG, Westpac and Challenger Limited. Immediately prior to joining Regal Brendan spent over 10 years at Challenger, including 8 years as the CFO of Challenger’s Funds Management business. Brendan holds a Bachelor of Business, majoring in accounting and finance from the University of Technology, Sydney, is a chartered accountant and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
The ten-member team is responsible for risk management, compliance, administration, marketing and investor relations.
Philip King - Chief Investment Officer
Philip joined Regal in 2006 and prior to that was a Hedge Fund Manager at DPFM in London for six years and before that was a sell side analyst with Macquarie Bank for five years. Prior to working at Macquarie Bank, Philip worked at KPMG for eight years. Philip holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of New South Wales, is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals, a Chartered Accountant and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
Julian Babarczy - Portfolio Manager
Julian joined Regal in 2006 and is a Portfolio Manager with responsibility for the oil and gas, mining and energy sectors. Julian joined Regal from Lazard, where he was the lead investment banking analyst for the oil & gas sectors. Prior to Lazard, Julian held several roles in corporate finance. Julian holds a Bachelor of Business from Monash University, is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia.
